DEMONSTRATION CLASS OBSERVATION

CLASS DEMONSTRATION OBSERVATION

Class demonstrations are conducted on 02/03/2022 after our internal examination. We,teacher trainees of physical science department are divided into two groups. Each group consists of twelve  teacher trainees. We got opportunity to observe three demonstration classes of our seniors as a part of our curriculum.

First class is taken by lekshmi V Pillai  from 12.15 to 12.45pm . She took class about the topic "push and pull" from the chapter Force(Physics) in 8th standard.She started the class by giving them a warm wish and invited them to the topic by giving examples from real life. She mainly used colourful charts and smiley ball,magnet ,nail etc as learning aids .she handled the class in a interesting way. She followed a learner centered approach.All students are actively participated in the class . The teacher is worked as a guide.She display activity written in chart in chalkboard and students come and wrote the answers.At the end of the class she sum up the whole topic discussed and give a follow up activity to the students.

The second demonstration class was took by Malavika.S .She took class about the topic chlorine from the chapter non metals in 9th standard. She started the class by asking students about the details of previous class.She started teaching by giving some clues about the chlorine without telling the elements . students actively respond to the questions and they name the element chlorine.Then she demonstrated the formation of chlorine gas in the class room by doing the experiment. She go near to each student with the testtube to experience them the smell of the chlorine gas.It was an awesome experience. She concluded the class by asking certain questions and a puzzle is done to concrete the content studied.she also give follow up activity.Class ended by 01.15PM.

The third demonstration class was took by Alitta.T.A.She taught about the topic "Acids' from the chapter Acid, Bases and Salts in 9th standard.She started the class by presenting a video about the reaction of acids with the help of ICT. She do so many experiments in the class about the reaction of acids with metals and the colour change in litmus paper is shown .She used charts to convey the topic .She concluded the class by sum up the topic and also give a follow up activity.

Afterall,all the three demonstration classes are very effective and activity oriented. They used many teaching skills during class.classes are learner centered and students are actively participated in the class. Demonstration class observation of all groups ended by 3.00pm .

 Reflection session was conducted in the seminar hall. Two students from each department shared their experience and observations there.Liji K.Raju and Sandeep represented our physical science department and shared their experience there.The reflection ended by 4.00pm.It was a nice experience.
