FIELD TRIP

 FIELD TRIP -PRIYADARSHINI PLANETARIUM THIRUVANANTHAPURAM

As a part of Kerala University two year B.Ed curriculum,We, First year B.Ed trainees went for a field trip on 25th March,2022. This optional subject based field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the first semester syllabus. The purpose of the trip is usually for observation and analysis of the day to day activities of that place and to make report of it and to make trainees explore with experiences outside their everyday activities.

All the students were divided into two groups.Our first group had 58 students from English, Natural Science, Physical Science optionals. Faculties from these three departments were also accompanied with us. Places to visit were Priyadarshini planetarium Thiruvananthapuram, Zoo  and Art gallery . The second group had 45 students from malayalam, social science and mathematics optional.Faculties from these three departments also accompanied with them.Everyone assembled in the Kottarakara by 7 am in the morning and had  breakfast from the Indian coffee house .Teachers took the correct number of the students present and after that all of us got into the their corresponding two tourist buses.The journey began by 7:45 am. The students as well as the teachers had a wonderful time in the tourist bus. 

We reached priyadarshini planetarium, Thiruvananthapuram at 10.15Pm. firstly we had visited the exhibiting items there. The models of hot sun, moon,early scientists and satellite models etc are displayed there. We can know the weight of us in various planets including earth from the instrument there.This one day field trip for teacher trainees aimed to develop critical thinking,scientific attitude,logical thinking,aesthetic sense, scientific awareness,imagination and creativity in teacher trainees and make them  a good science teacher in future with full of science attitude and neglecting blind beliefs and practices. It was for this purpose that the students along with the optional teachers attended the field trip to Trivandrum.

Later we entered into the sky theatre and watched a science documentary about the origin of our universe ,planets and their stars ,their environment and everything related to it. It was a wonderful experience.it was a journey through various planets . Demonstrating the environment and speciality of planets help students to easily understood the topic which  learn from science book in school and develop a positive attitude and interest towards science.we also visited electrical engineering and mathematics gallery near the planetarium. Different topics,laws, principles we had learn from textbook are demonstrated here.working and still models are very helpful to recall and re- collecting my early learned knowledge.

Secondly we visited zoo after having lunch . Plastic bottles are not allowed inside the zoo and we need to pay to bring them inside. It was a superb experience as a first comer to the zoo. Zoo is a man made conservation to project and conserve animals in a man made surroundings.

We saw lion,tiger,leopard,deers,lots of birds,snakes,butterflies, monkeys,lion tailed maquaque ,rhinosurs and many other living creatures there.Everything have their own habitat inside the zoo. A special place is arranged for their living and lots of staff are there to observe and arrange their timely needs like food and others. There are guards also to project the dangerous animals from human beings.

It was a nice experience to watch and analyse the livelihood of those animals.Zoo visit was mainly arranged for natural science optional teacher trainees.

Thirdly we had visited the arts gallery near zoo.Pictures drew by the famous Raja Ravi Varma are displayed there.pictures depicting Indian traditions,customs,costumes are helpful to create and fix our awareness about our traditions.Pictures drew by other famous artists were also displayed in the art gallery.The pictures of Raja Ravi Varma are so famous because those pictures are focusing us from.all directions. It shows the talent of the genius artist All the pictures are beautiful and it had the name of artist drawn and year on bottom side.

Atlast we went to Kovalam Beach.We enjoyed a lot there.we take selfies and also watched sunset. This field trip add some unforgettable memories to my life.

Field trip provide an opportunity for the teacher trainees to took a break from their daily routine and learn and explore things from nature around us.we had  visited planetarium,Zoo and art gallery. The students and teachers are very co- operative . Planetarium visit helped me to analyse the things around me in scientific way and to develop a positive attitude and critical thinking. Field trip develop co operation and companionship among students and make them good human beings .

COLLEGE UNION AND ARTS CLUB INAUGURATION

           DHEEKSHA 2K22 COLLEGE  UNION 

College union -"DHEEKSHA" 2K22 and arts club inaguration of Baselious marthoma Mathews II training college kottarakara was conducted on 24th March 2022 at college auditorium. The program begins with a formal session at 10.00AM.

Our college principal Roy .G sir gave welcome to the programme. The "DHEEKSHA"college union chairman jishnu Vijay from mathematics department presided over the function.

Juli.A , assistant professor, Malayalam department, government college for women's Thiruvananthapuram was inagurated the programme  . She also deliver a wonderful speech and also recite a poem written by Anil panachooran. Later staff secretary,Sri.Riju John sir from social science department and former chairman Abin.G.Raju from Second year Natural science department delivered felicitations.Arts club secretary, Kesiya T.Biju from English department gave vote of thanks to the programme.

Informal session was begun by 11.30. Dr.Leena Wahid teacher from mathematics department sung a beautiful song. Then teacher trainees from various departments perform programs.Ganes are also conducted. It was conducted by natural science department.

The stage decoration done by Malayalam department is awesome. The program coordination was done by our department.

After the  lunch break ,the Abhinandh and their team conducted the music show. It was wonderful show. I enjoyed it a lot.

ARTS FESTIVAL 2K22

 A festival is an occasion of enjoyment and celebration which promotes social interaction and harmony. "Sadgamaya" arts festival of baselious marthoma Mathews II training college kottarakara was conducted from 15/03/2022-18/03/2022. The arts festival was conducted on the leadership of Dwani College union. 

College union chairman Abin G.Raju welcomed all to the programme. The sadgamaya arts festival was  officially inagurated by Rev.Zakariah ramban ,local manager of our college on 17/03/2022.Riju sir,Head of the department of social science presided over the function. Dr.Leena Wahid teacher,head of the department of mathematics and also staff coordinator of arts festival gave felicitation to the programme.Arts club secretary steni miriya sajan gave vote of thanks.

Firstly all B.Ed trainees are divided into three Houses.First house is hamsadwani.second group is chakravakam.Third group is Imdolam.Each group have captains and vice captains to lead them.The trainees are participated in the programmes on behalf of their house.The writing competitions and other offstage programmes are conducted on 15/03/2022and 16/03/2022. On stage programmes are started on 17/03/2022 by 10.30Pm  after the inauguration ceremony. Trainees from all the three groups had participated in the individual and group programmes and bagged prizes.First prize got 5points, second got 3 and third got 2points. And one mark is awarded for participation.

Dance competitions are conducted on 18/03/2022 and other on stage competitions are done on this day . There are two stages for the competitions on 18th March 2022.Dance items  like thiruvathira and group items like vanchipattu ,nadanpattu etc are conducted on stage one at main seminar hall. English , Malayalam recitation, speech,debate,mime etc conducted on stage two at M.Ed classroom.

I participated in the vanchipattu and nadanpattu. And the team including me bagged second prize for vanchipattu and first prize for nadanpattu. 

The team chakravakam in which me included got overall first prize and team Hindolam got second prize and team Hamswadwani got third prize. Riju sir hand over the overall winner troffy to the chakravakam tean captain and vice captain.

Sreevindh nath from first year natural science department won prize for "Kalaprathibha" and Anjana chechi from second year English department won prize for "Kalathilakam"

The team took photos together with teachers we celebrated holy also. All the B.ed trainees both from first year and second year jointly participated in the programmes.second years and first years have a good coordination and supporting mentality which resulted in the full success of the arts day celebrations.

In case of our team chakravakam both captain feba chechi amd vice captain manju along with team members work hard in a limited time span for the success of the programmes we participated and a result of this hardworking mentality mad strong determination we are capable to achieve first prize.

For me this arts festival was a wonderful experience in my life. It helped me to make myself active by participating in programmes.all the programmes are fantastic. Every team work hard to make the programmes perfect and everyone participate with a friendly competitive mind.

WORKSHOP ON ART EDUCATION

 Today , 15/03/2022 a workshop on art education was conducted on Baselious marthoma Mathews II Training College kottarakara . The workshop was taken by Sri.M.Gopalakrishnan sir. He is a retired high school assistant and also exhibited his work in many Binales.He also working as a judge to various art exhibitions and taking art workshops in many colleges.

Workshop session started at 10 am at the main seminar hall after the assembly. Firstly Riju sir introduced Gopalakrishnan sir and also gave some information about the workshop session.Then Gopalakrishnan sir took the class.Firstly he gave introduction about  the importance of work experience and art education.The workshop is from 10.00AM to 4.00PM. It was a very enthusiastic and energetic session.

He divided the whole students into group by taking two benches aa one group.He taught as to make flowers, wall decorating materials, fancy lights etc using paper .He also taught us to make flowers using tissue paper and wire. He not only taught us but also help us to make these these items using colour papers and tissue paper.

The workshop ended by 4.00pm .Riju sir give felicitation to this session and vote of thanks is given by athira from Malayalam department.

It was a wonderful experience in my life as a B.Ed teacher trainee.It help to develop and renovate my art skills.
