YOUTH RED CROSS INAUGURATION AND TRAINING IN FIRST AID & DISASTER MANAGEMENT

     Youth Red cross unit inauguration and one day training Programme on First Aid and disaster management was conducted on 22nd July ,2022 at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College kottarakara. 

     The Programme was inaugurated by our  local manager, Rev.Fr.M.Jacob . The Youth Red Cross Unit was inaugurated by Prof.Mohandas, IRCS Kollam vice  Chairman. The class on First Aid was taken by Dr.Authura Das.M, Holy Cross Hospital, Kottiyam. The doctor demonstrated us how to give first aid in essential situations and also make us aware about the way to gave CPR to children and adults. He gave information about the things to be done in such situations. This class extended Upto lunch break .

    After lunch break the disaster management training class was given by  Mr.Harshalal Sharma. He taught us to make different type of loops in ropes to help others and save ourselves in dangerous situations.  As a teacher trainee, I personally believe this training in first aid and disaster management help me in my future journey as a budding teacher. It was a wonderful experience in my life.

MICROTEACHING SECOND DAY

 The second and final session microteaching classes are conducted on 19th July,2022 at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College, Kottarakara.

I took "SKILL OF BLACK BOARD WRITING "as my second skill. I prepare micro  lesson  plan based on the TOPIC - "ACCELERATION DUE TO GRAVITY" from the unit "GRAVITATION". 

I derive the derivation on the blackboard and explain it well to my students. Teacher trainees from other optionals act as my students. Our optional teacher Vineeth Sir is my Teacher observer and two of my friends Ashna and Hanna are my peer observers. After my class teacher and my peers gave feedback to my skill of blackboard writing. I personally feel very happy as I improved a lot in my black board writing style after my criticism class.

The microteaching classess help us to improve our teaching skills.

MICROTEACHING -DAY 1

 First session classes of microteaching  are conducted on 18th July ,2022 at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College kottarakara. Microteaching is a teacher training technique aimed to improve teaching skills of  teacher trainees. This was a part of our first and second semester internal assessment of two year B.Ed programme. 

Each teacher trainee need to prepare micro lesson plan and take classes on two microteaching skills on the basis of the prepared micro lesson plan. On the first day,each of us prepare micro lesson plan and took classes for 3-8minutes bases on one microteaching skill. 

I took microteaching class based on "skill of Explaining" about the topic 'static electricity'. Roy sir  was my teacher observer and two of my friends are the peer observers. Five teacher trainees from other departments are the students. I took the class very well. After the class observers evaluate and criticise the class based on the components of the microteaching skill -explaining. I also got opportunity to act as student in English department's microteaching class.

I personally feel the experience gained from the class help me to improve me as a growing teacher.

MICROTEACHING DEMONSTRATION CLASS BY M.Ed TRAINEES

Microteaching demonstration classes are taken by M.Ed trainees on 15th July,2022 at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College kottarakara. 

This demonstration classes are taken to make first year B.ed trainees aware about the proper utilisation of microteaching skills in the classroom teaching. M.ed trainees take demonstration classes based on various microteaching skills on the basis of their prepared micro lesson plan.

After the microteaching demonstration classes each B.Ed trainee need to take microteaching classes on two microteaching skills on allotted day and time. The skills are taken on the bases of the skills they need improvement.

                                        

GAMES DAY

 As a part of Kerala University B.ed curriculum games day activities of Baselious Marthoma Mathews II training college kottarakara was conducted on 13/07/2022. Physical education teacher Sri.Nibin gave leadership to the games day activities. 

Badminton, Carroms, Chess competitions are conducted on the leadership of teachers. Teacher trainees participated in various games as representatives of the groups. I participated in badminton representing chakravakam group.

This games day activities are conducted for the internal assessment of physical education. It was a wonderful experience and time for us.
