VISIT @ CLASSICAL ARTS MUSEUM, KOTTARAKARA
As a part of Kerala University B.Ed curriculum,We, First year B.Ed trainees went for a field trip on 18th February,2022. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the first semester syllabus. The purpose of the trip is usually for observation and analysis of the day to day activities of that place and to make report of it and to make trainees explore with experiences outside their everyday activities.
We visited the heritage art gallery ,near ganapathy temple kottarakara on 18th February,2022.Riju sir divided the 105 B.Ed trainees into three groups. Each group consist of 35 student trainees. I was in the second group. Our faculties Vineeth sir and sudarshanan sir accompanied us.
The time scheduled for first group is from 10.00Am -11.00Am. The time for second group is from 11.00Am-12.00Pm .The time scheduled for third group is from 12.00Pm to 01.00Pm.
I reached there by 10.50Pm. We, the second group entered the art museum by 11.15PM. The front view of the museum is very awesome and mind blowing. From the door itself we can see the five different kathakali demonstrations in the gallery . The five major Veshams in Kathakali are Kathi (Knife), Pacha (Green), Thaadi (Beard), Minukku (radiant) and Kari (Black). Then biji,the guide of gallery give us detailed information about the museum,Story behind kathakali orgin.The kottarakara Thamburan is known as the father of kathakali. The 108 dancing postures of bharatha muni's Arthashastra are seen there. A lot of old musical instruments,old coins and different things related to ancient Kerala history and arts are seen there. We took lot of pictures of these history and by 12.15Pm we left the museum and jointly took picture of the second group with faculties .
On the whole, the trip was awesome. All had a fantastic time and it was very much helpful for developing the historical knowledge about ancient art forms, exploration skills, imagination, and co-operation in the students . To conclude, the trip was very informative, effective and at the same time memorable. So organizing such field trips will be very helpful for the students to learn new through observation, exploration and interaction. It was a wonderful day and memory in my life.
